Culinary Research Associate
Location: Mumbai/Remote
Employment Type: Part Time
About the Role
There is no doing good through food without good, tasty food. As we work with more communities, regions, and culinary cultures, we need your help in translating our knowledge into delicious recipes, and making them accessible. As a culinary associate, you are responsible for gathering diverse recipes from across India, finding inventive ways to present them, and ensuring their accuracy.
You will conduct thorough recipe testing to ensure that recipes collected are fine tuned to their best flavour and texture profile, while spotlighting local and seasonal ingredients. Your knowledge and skills in cooking and presentation will allow us to showcase the best of our learnings from The Locavore projects and partnerships.
At The Locavore, storytelling is deeply central to and an important part of writing and developing recipes; we are deeply committed to ensuring that each recipe is beautifully articulated and does justice to the culinary life and history of a dish. Through this role, you will become skilled in writing, editing, and copyediting within an ever-expanding format of recipes on our platform, and learn to navigate a rigorous editing process.
As we expand our repertoire of recipes, you will work with the marketing and design team to create compelling content for our website, social media, and newsletters. Your knowledge of and interest in creatively working with a diverse set of ingredients will allow you to provide support and when required, lead culinary aspects of projects, such as the Millet Revival Project’s cooking lab. Your love for regional cuisines and contextually rich recipes will enable us to document recipes more inventively.
