WHERE WE MET
Thank you to the Host and Co-host, Priyanka and Smit. It was lovely meeting all the new members and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, as always.
Juhee
Thank you, hosts, for such a good time!
Anuja
Had such a lovely time at the meetup. Thank you, hosts, and everyone who attended the meetup. I shall try making the golden pumpkin soup one day that Juhee had brought!
Niharika
Vankaaya (Brinjal) Pachadi and Tomato Pachadi, two Andhra-style fiery chutneys brought by member Sirisha, made by sautéing the vegetables with chillies and spices, then grinding them into a coarse, tangy mix, typically finished with a mustard and curry leaf tempering.
Starfruit, with its crisp citrusy bite, and karonda, the tart monsoon berry, both made their way to the LFC table. Members don’t just bring cooked dishes, but also fresh, seasonal produce to share and spark conversations
Ragi and Mahua Cookies by Vikram—earthy, nutrient-rich finger millet paired with the floral sweetness of mahua nectar, baked into wholesome little bites that celebrate indigenous grains and ingredients.
For more such Ragi recipes, check out the Millet Revival Project on The Locavore website.
MEET YOUR HOST
What does local mean to you?
‘Local’ means knowing your vendor’s name, trusting your spices, and eating food that tells a story only your city can tell.
Sitting on my grandmother’s kitchen floor in Kolkata, watching her turn simple, everyday ingredients into pure magic.
Raw Banana Stem Curry in a village home in Tamil Nadu—fibrous, earthy, and unforgettable.
Upma with a little bit of mango pickle, oil, and sugar—sweet, spicy, and weirdly addictive.
As a space where strangers become friends over shared bites, and where we rediscover forgotten local gems, one potluck at a time.
