LFC MUMBAI (NORTH) | JULY 2026-JANUARY 2027
How did you first come to be involved with the Local Food Club?
My journey with the Local Food Club began last year. I attended a meetup to shoot the proceedings, and that was my first introduction to the community.
What’s your go-to local food spot in your city, and why does it matter to you?
At the top of my list would be Jai Hind Lunch Home, Taste of Kerala, and Shree Thakker Bhojnalaya. I love a good thali—there’s something so satisfying about one large plate with so many different dishes to taste. I find it more wholesome and affordable than ordering at fancy cafés.
One food trend you’re loving right now, and one you’re ready to see less of.
I wouldn’t point to one specific food trend, but more the lack of effort to create something new. When two benne dosa spots become popular, in the next six months, 12 more people open the exact same business. It feels like people are just chasing a trend to cash in, instead of bringing something original or honouring a classic.
What’s something you’ll almost always find in your fridge?
Chili oil. Always.
What’s an LFC moment or memory that you’ll never forget?
My first time hosting. It kind of tanked, but it was still such a great experience and a memory I’ll always hold on to.
How do you imagine your Local Food Club growing and flourishing over time?
My vision for Local Food Club is to build deeper conversations around food. Although sharing what we ate and swapping recipes is a wonderful part of it, I feel that other aspects of food often get lost. I would love for people to explore new ingredients, research and share their experiences—to see that curiosity grow and flourish in our community.
