WHERE WE MET

Breads and Banter is an all-day café known for its freshly baked breads, indulgent brunches, and a community vibe—inviting you to linger over coffee, comfort food, and conversation.
What Members Said

I believe strongly that if a dish is being shared, it should be authentic. The stand-out dishes were Paysasam and Vadai for me!

What We Loved

People who walked in as strangers but left with a full stomach and new friends—exactly the kind of magic we love to see at LFC!

The moment at an LFC when the table is just starting to come together.

A mix of flavours and crunch from across kitchens—mathri, nippattu, and bhajis—all made for a rainy-day table.

MEET YOUR HOST

Mohana is a people strategist helping founders build workplaces rooted in empathy and care. She’s also a passionate home cook who believes food is a powerful medium for connection and community. Through her boutique dining experience, Virundhu (Tamil for feast), she invites strangers into her home to share soul-stirring Tamil meals.

What does local mean to you?

‘Local’, to me, is skipping the tourist traps and heading straight to the hole-in-the-wall eatery. It’s discovering ingredients that grow only there, cooked the way only they know how. Whether I’m in a new city or my hometown, ‘local’ means tasting the stories of that place.

Me and my girls, almost a decade ago, would save every rupee and drive all the way from Koramangala to Richards Park just to eat the most delicious roadside momos and fiery chutney from Chris Momos. We’d sit on the pavement—laughing, sharing stories, and licking spicy fingers. Pure joy on a budget.

Blood curry from my village near Madurai. Spiced just right, rich, and unapologetically bold. Not for the faint-hearted, but absolutely delicious.

Star fruit: underrated, but bursting with flavour if you have it at the right time. A little sour, a little sweet. My mother-in-law makes the best pickles with them.

To me, it’s all about people from different walks of life coming together to share their love for food in whatever form feels true to them. If we stay rooted in that spirit, we’re already winning. Over time, I hope it grows into a more community-driven movement, branching out beyond the once-a-month curated meetups.
