WHERE WE MET
Freedom Tree is an experiential centre and design store, where handcrafted furniture, textiles, and décor are artfully arranged to create a warm, homelike atmosphere.
A big thank you to the LFC team and supporting members, as well as the hosts, for making the meetup at Mahalakshmi amazing. I am still going over (in my mind) the great conversations that were shared. It was wonderful to find people with a common passion for food. I feel the evening could have easily turned into late night without someone keeping a tab on the time!
Khushboo
I had an amazing time at the meetup, and relished the varied food from Pahadi, Odia, and coastal cuisines. The Bingo was fun—not a dull moment. You rocked LFC Mahalaxmi.
Supriya
Thank you, Shushma and Maria, for being such great hosts, and Kunal and team for the lovely pictures. Thanks to Rajni for the Mahua flowers. The food was amazing, as were all the lovely stories.

What We Loved
A warming cup of kandali (stinging nettle) leaf tea, brought by member Rhea, made from wild nettle leaves that are usually found in Uttarakhand and Himachal. This mineral-rich brew from our partner producer Himalayan Haat is a taste of the hills. Explore their work and other partners on our website here.
A fragrant water chestnut pulao paired with tangy lotus root mango-miso pickle, brought by a member from Japan who now calls Mumbai home. A beautiful fusion of Indian wild ingredients and Japanese fermentation.
Sungta Teppal Ambat, a Konkani prawn curry where freshly ground coconut, red chillies, and teppal (a native variant of Sichuan pepper) come together for a sharp, citrusy heat. The teppal isn’t eaten—it’s bruised and simmered whole, releasing an aroma that defines this coastal classic.
