How to RSVP for an LFC Meetup

The Local Food Club (LFC) is a nation-wide, community-led initiative facilitated by The Locavore. Our attempt is to create meaningful change in our local food systems by nurturing connections, sharing learnings, and enabling collective action. 

Across cities, towns, neighbourhoods—and online, LFC runs on shared quarterly themes, with regular gatherings, curated events, conversations, and learning spaces. 

Step 1: Sign up as an LFC member and join an LFC WhatsApp group (if you haven’t already) 

After signing up, you will:

  • See links to join multiple LFC WhatsApp groups on the following screen (You will also receive an automated email with the same links).
  • Join your city group (and the LFC Central group for updates).
  • Once approved, keep notifications on—this is where meetup details and RSVP links are shared.

If you’re already part of an LFC WhatsApp group, skip this step.

Step 2: RSVP for a meetup

  • About 10 days before the meetup, an RSVP newsletter will be shared..
  • Open the newsletter and click the green RSVP button.
  • Fill out the form and select your city/location. Please read the instructions at the top of the form carefully before submitting.
Scroll to the bottom of our monthly RSVP newsletter, and click on the green button to fill out the RSVP form.
(Left to right) The beginning of the form shares crucial instructions along with information on the timings and locations for the LFC meetups. It is mandatory to fill out the form, and select the city you’d like to RSVP for from the dropdown menu.


Step 3: Confirmation

This is what the post-form response looks like, if you’ve got a spot on the final guest list.
  • If you get a spot, a confirmation message, like the one above, will appear after you submit the form. 
  • You’ll also receive an email copy of your form response—this is the only confirmation you need.

Venue details will be shared by your city’s Super Locavore a few days before the meetup. You can also review the Potluck Guidelines while you wait.

If your city is not listed:

  • Once a city’s RSVP capacity is full, that city may no longer appear in the dropdown list.
  • In this case, select “I don’t see my city on the list” in the form.
  • Enter your city name on the next screen.
  • You’ll receive an automated email confirming that you’ve been added to the waitlist.

Please note: Being on the waitlist does not guarantee a spot. If you don’t hear from your city’s Super Locavore two days before the meetup, it means they couldn’t confirm your spot this time. You’ll be kept in the loop for future meetups.

How to Cancel Your RSVP

If you are unable to attend after RSVPing:

  • Tag your city’s Super Locavore in your city WhatsApp group
  • Mention the meetup location you had RSVPed for
  • Please do not DM admins or volunteers individually

If your city doesn’t have a Super Locavore yet, tag the assigned Host in the group instead. This helps us offer the spot to someone on the waitlist and keeps things running smoothly.
