GET INVOLVED
The Local Food Club (LFC) is a nation-wide, community-led initiative facilitated by The Locavore. Our attempt is to create meaningful change in our local food systems by nurturing connections, sharing learnings, and enabling collective action.
Whether you want to facilitate or attend a meetup, steward a city chapter, or support the community in practical ways, there are many ways to get involved.
1. BECOME AN LFC MEMBER
Join a growing network of people who care about where food comes from, who makes it possible, and how everyday choices connect to larger systems.
As an LFC member, you’ll be part of a local community that gathers regularly around shared themes—to listen, learn, reflect, and take small, meaningful actions together. You don’t need expertise or perfect food habits. Just curiosity, respect, and a willingness to engage.
2. BECOME A SUPERLOCAVORE (City Champion)
If you care deeply about local food systems, enjoy bringing people together, and are willing to take responsibility for nurturing a community, this role is for you.
Super Locavores are city stewards who help hold the purpose of LFC locally. They support monthly meetups, guide conversations around quarterly themes, and act as a bridge between their city and The Locavore team.
3. OFFER YOUR VENUE
Have a space that could host a monthly gathering of 25–30 people?
From cafés and bookstores to studios and community spaces, venues play a crucial role in making LFC gatherings accessible and welcoming. Hosting doesn’t require programming—just a willingness to open your doors to conversation and community.
4. KICKSTART IN YOUR ORGANISATION
Schools, colleges, workplaces, and collectives can also host Local Food Clubs.
We support organisations in setting up LFC chapters that bring people together around food systems—through shared meals, discussions, and locally relevant action. Each chapter is shaped by its own context, while staying aligned with LFC’s intent and values.
We would love to hear from you. Share your feedback, leave a testimonial, and tell us what more we could be doing to make the Local Food Club better! Write to us at connect@localfoodclub.in.
