Camel Feta
ORIGIN: Sadri, Rajasthan
₹700 | 100 G
Made with camel milk, this mildly salty and creamy cheese is preserved in peanut oil.
You’ll be buying directly from the producer. The Locavore does not handle orders, payments, delivery, or customer support.
Apart from being made with high quality camel milk—which has a distinct flavour profile because of the natural vegetation the camels feed on—this cheese is spiced with a touch of rosemary, thyme, garlic, and red and black pepper.
Use it in small amounts, crumbled over salads, roasted vegetables, or grain bowls where its saltiness and marinade can lift the dish. It also works well paired with flatbreads or added to simple sandwiches, and can be used to finish warm dishes just before serving. The oil and herbs it comes with can be used as well, drizzled lightly for added flavour. We especially love it on our cheeseboard along with fresh guava, pear or pineapple.
Camel Charisma aims to preserve traditional camel herding culture, and conserve the desert ecosystem in Rajasthan by developing and promoting products made out of camel milk. They source all raw materials from the Raika community moving within a 40-50 kilometre radius of Sadri, where they are based.
