About The Locavore & Local Food Club (LFC):
At The Locavore, we are on a relentless mission to expand the boundaries of positive impact through food. The Local Food Club (LFC) initiative is at the heart of this vision—a growing, nationwide network of community-led gatherings that celebrate regional food traditions, spark conversations, and inspire collective action.
Led by passionate food lovers, LFC brings people together across India to share meals, tell stories, and build relationships around what truly nourishes us. Each club meets once a month, is free of charge and open to all, and offers a welcoming space to connect, eat together, and take action for a more sustainable future.
With over 4,000 members and 40 active locations (and growing), LFC is expanding faster than ever. Our aim is to open new clubs thoughtfully and sustainably, while strengthening existing ones and ensuring that members have the tools, structure, and connections to thrive. In doing so, we’re building a vibrant, inclusive community of people who believe in doing good through food.

About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and community-driven LFC Project Lead to steer LFC into its next phase of growth. You will act as the primary point of contact across all LFC verticals—internal and external—coordinating everything across teams, including all editorial requirements. You will ensure smooth coordination of meetups nationwide, build sustainable community-led systems, and expand our reach from urban hubs to rural heartlands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership
- Provide overall direction for LFC, ensuring all activities align with The Locavore’s mission and long-term vision.
- Act as the central POC across all LFC verticals—coordinating between internal teams (editorial, partnerships, design, operations) and external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery of editorial assets (stories, visuals, data) from meetups to the editorial team for coverage and publication.
Operational Stewardship
- Develop and oversee systems that support consistency, efficiency, and scalability in LFC operations.
- Anticipate challenges and implement solutions to safeguard continuity and integrity.
- Manage the LFC budget in coordination with the Projects Lead, ensuring optimal use of funds for events, resources, and travel.
Innovation & Programme Design
- Evolve LFC formats, activities, and engagement models to keep them fresh, inclusive, and impactful.
- Pilot and refine new initiatives that advance LFC’s mission, drawing on community feedback and trends in food, sustainability, and social change.
Volunteer & Leadership Development
- Build clear pathways for members and volunteers to step into leadership roles.
- Create frameworks for training, mentorship, and peer learning that strengthen network capacity over time.
- Serve as an escalation point for host, member or venue concerns, addressing conflicts with empathy and alignment to LFC’s guidelines.
Growth & Strategic Partnerships
- Achieve target growth of two new LFC cities per month and a 15% increase in venues annually, ensuring each is launched with quality and purpose.
- Build and nurture relationships with individuals, organisations, and institutions that can strengthen the network, bring fresh opportunities, and amplify impact.
Impact & Learning
- Maintain and improve systems for tracking meetups, member growth, and engagement across all LFC cities.
- Monitor and assess LFC’s activities using data, stories, and feedback to measure influence and areas for growth.
- Use insights to refine strategies, processes, and member experiences.
