Our Projects initiative is at the heart of this endeavor, designed to create profound changes within specific communities and environments. These projects engage at the grassroots level, providing us with deep insights and forming lasting connections. Over the months, we’ve collaborated closely with communities, archiving stories, and establishing support structures that stand the test of time. With three ongoing projects, we are seeking a Projects Lead who can help us sustain and amplify the impact of these initiatives.
As the Projects Lead, you will play a pivotal role in envisioning, planning, and executing new projects at The Locavore. Your responsibilities will span from initial ideation to establishing comprehensive growth timelines and strategic resource allocation. You will be the bridge between internal project teams, external participants, and partner organizations, mentoring project employees, volunteers, and local stakeholders. Your ability to navigate risk analysis, solve problems, and report progress will guide us in identifying challenges and devising strategies that prioritize the well-being of all involved.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Strategy:
• Lead the development of well-defined project plans, aligning objectives, timelines, and resource allocation with The Locavore’s overarching vision and goals.
• Formulate comprehensive project strategies that guide each initiative’s execution, ensuring seamless alignment with our mission.
Project Execution:
• Take ownership of project execution, from inception to completion, overseeing every facet with diligence.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the timely, quality-driven implementation of projects.
Team Leadership:
• Provide effective guidance, support, and mentorship to project teams, nurturing a collaborative and motivated environment.
• Delegate tasks strategically, leveraging team members’ strengths to foster their professional growth.
Stakeholder Management:
• Cultivate meaningful collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders, including food producers, local communities, external organizations, and partners.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships that ensure active participation and enduring support throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Establish robust mechanisms for monitoring project progress, tracking key performance indicators, and assessing outcomes.
• Regularly report project status, milestones, and achievements to the management team.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks, challenges, and obstacles that could impact project success.
• Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to uphold project objectives.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
• Seek strategic collaborations and partnerships to enhance the impact of projects.
• Identify and engage potential collaborators, fostering mutually beneficial relationships that drive project goals forward.
Continuous Improvement:
• Actively identify areas for process enhancement, operational efficiency, and innovation.
• Implement lessons learned from previous projects, infusing best practices for continuous growth and optimization.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
• Collaborate closely with the Founder and Head of Strategy & Operations to craft and manage project budgets, ensuring resource utilization aligns with financial guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain meticulous project documentation, including detailed project plans, regular progress reports, and comprehensive closure reports.
• Contribute to organizational reports and presentations as required.
