About the Role
The MRP Editor will play a pivotal role in shaping the voice, style, and direction of our publications for the Millet Revival Project. Your familiarity with editing and communication skills will allow you to collaborate with writers, project team members, and external stakeholders to curate content around millets.
Your ability to handle multiple priorities creatively will help you oversee commissioning, editing, and publication, while ensuring adherence to timelines. While you will be leading a team of writers and copyeditors, providing guidance to ensure high-quality work, you will also be closely working with the core editorial team. You will participate in regular calls with the The Locavore core team to ideate and strategize on the editorial aspects of the Millet Revival Project and its visual representation on digital platforms, in accordance with broader organizational initiatives and campaigns. Your skills in a diverse range of storytelling techniques will equip you to contribute to various content methods, such as event documentation, headlines, and social media editorial.
Your network of freelance writers and contributors and your experience in editorial roles will ensure that our work under the project is enriched with various unique perspectives articulated by skilled voices. Supported by your ability to sensitively work with various cultures and languages, we will be able to find unique story angles in the plethora of similar content within the millet landscape. While not mandatory, your ability to write and edit in regional Indian languages will help strengthen our storytelling endeavours.

Copyeditor

About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Copyeditor to join our Millet Revival Project team. The Copyeditor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of written content across various mediums. Your exceptional grammar and language skills, and experience in copy editor roles will enable you to review and provide feedback on written materials, including articles, marketing collateral, website content, social media content and other documents. With your communication skills, you will be able to collaborate effectively with the MRP and core team editors, and writers commissioned under the project, and engage in regular discussions with the other labs under the project.
Your keen attention to detail will help us verify factual accuracy, consistency of information, and proper citation of sources with articles, as well as format content to align with The Locavore’s established editorial guidelines. You will work closely with the Cooking Lab Lead when working on recipes to ensure absolute accuracy and consistency with our platform’s voice.
You will assist the MRP Editor in developing and refining editorial guidelines and style manuals to ensure a standardized approach to editing and writing the millet recipes, millet FAQs, knowledge partner interviews and in depth stories and articles. Additionally, your strong organizational skills will help us manage multiple commitments and timely meeting of deadlines.
