Have them on their own as a snack, or alongside tea when you want something mildly sweet. You can also crush them and use them as a topping for vanilla ice cream or in a green salad for some textural contrast. . Because they’re light, they’re easy to keep reaching for through the day.
The mild sweetness and firm texture of this variety of banana allows it to be fried even when ripe.
Malabar Se showcases Kerala-inspired small-batch snacks made with locally sourced, chemical-free produce using age-old techniques. They use locally sourced coconut oil for frying, and cook their products on a traditional wood-fired chulha that burns coconut husks and sawdust from a local wood mill.
