Steep about two grams of tea leaves in 150 ml of hot water at around 95°C for approximately one minute. Do not boil the tea leaves directly. The same leaves can be re-steeped several times.
Rather than blending the tea with dried galangal, Forest Pick combines its wild black tea with fresh galangal rhizomes overnight. The galangal is removed the following morning and the tea is sun-dried, with the process repeated several times. This gives the tea a pronounced fresh galangal aroma without pieces of the rhizome remaining in the final blend.
Forest Pick sources and retails wild tea from local communities living in and around the hills adjoining the Churachandpur district in southern Manipur. Unlike most conventional tea plantations—where tea trees are pruned to be short bushes and treated with pesticides—wild tea trees grow up to 15 and 20 metres in height without any chemical intervention.
