Duration of Engagement: 12 months

Salary: 20,000/month

About the Role

The role of the Digital Content Writer at The Locavore is both dynamic and comprehensive, seamlessly integrating content creation and website management. This position holds a pivotal role in our mission, responsible for crafting compelling content, strategically distributing it across various platforms, and shaping the very essence of the online presence of the Millet Revival Project (MRP).

As part of this endeavor, we are in the process of creating a dedicated MRP website, serving as a centralized platform for all things related to millets in India. This website will house diverse content, including stories, interviews, events, profiles, a resource bank, and regular updates on both offline and online events. Its purpose is to facilitate streamlined access to millet-related content and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge.

As the dedicated Digital Content Writer you must have WordPress CMS experience and a solid understanding of the fundamentals of SEO. Your role encompasses writing, planning, structuring, and uploading content onto the MRP website. In the initial stages, you will be involved in the website’s structuring and content migration, with a slated go-live date in November. Afterward, you will be responsible for the ongoing publication of stories, recipes, and events.

In line with The Locavore’s commitment to robust and captivating digital media campaigns, your role also extends to content creation and the development of social media initiatives for the Millet Revival Project. You will play a pivotal role in spotlighting stories featured on the MRP website and generating content tailored for diverse digital platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Grove. Your tasks will encompass facilitating millet recipe videos on social media, crafting engaging static posts, reels, and informative videos that highlight MRP articles and recipes. Additionally, you will keep our audience informed about events, open houses, and collaborative endeavors across the project.

Your responsibilities also extend to creating compelling content that resonates with a diverse audience, utilizing multiple mediums including text, audio, and video. This content draws upon the information and data cultivated by the four dedicated research labs within the Millet Revival Project. You will translate this wealth of information into easily consumable digital media formats, collaborating closely with The Locavore’s communications team to ensure a seamless flow of initiatives.

In summary, your role as the Digital Content Writer is pivotal to driving the Millet Revival Project’s online presence, engaging a diverse audience, and promoting millets as a sustainable and nutritious choice. Your creative contributions will be instrumental in fostering positive change in India’s culinary landscape and its approach to food culture.
