What Does Loss Taste Like?

A speculative journey through taste, memory, and survival in 2100 India

The year is 2100. You enter a world reshaped by climate collapse and technological control, where descendants live on synthetic flavours and no longer remember the world we once knew. Yet one form of resistance still finds its way across time: the memory of taste. You’re invited to step inside a living drama about memory, culture, and the future you are shaping as you’re asked to ponder: What does loss taste like?

This immersive, multi-sensory experience is curated by Chef Thomas Zacharias & The Locavore, in collaboration with Immerse and Quasar Thakore-Padamsee (QTP).

Based on a 30+ page working paper mapping scientific projections, climate reports, biodiversity loss, urbanisation patterns, shifts in food behaviour, and technological trends, this curation brings together theatre, food design, storytelling, and learning, encouraging visitors to reflect on their own relationships with food and imagining an alternate future.
