Sidr Honey
ORIGIN: Pali, Rajasthan
₹950 | 500 G
A creamy, thick monofloral honey produced by the pollination of jujube flowers that are predominantly found in Rajasthan.
You’ll be buying directly from the producer. The Locavore does not handle orders, payments, delivery, or customer support.
This honey has a distinct flavour profile and aroma characteristic of the jujube tree, with notes of butterscotch. Moreover, to ensure transparency and traceability, the bottle includes the exact source of origin along with its GPS coordinates.
Because of its richer flavour, it works well as a finishing element, say over yoghurt or desserts where you can taste it more clearly. You can also replace your typical sugar syrup with a syrup made from the Sidr honey: combine cardamom powder, water and the honey in a bowl, and mix until a smooth consistency is achieved. You can then use the syrup as a soak for traditional Indian sweets!
The Moonshine Honey Project, a subsidiary of Moonshine Meadery, sources natural honey from beekeepers in Rajasthan, and a few areas of Haryana. They also work on reviving bee populations of the native Indian Honey Bee that they house in stationary bee boxes near their factory in Pune, Maharashtra.
