Wild Jamun Honey

ORIGIN: Sahyadri, Maharashtra

₹450  |  200 G

A locally sourced forest honey with sweet and tart notes, produced by wild rock bees that feed on wild jamun flowers.

You’ll be buying directly from the producer. The Locavore does not handle orders, payments, delivery, or customer support.

Unlike commercially available honey which is sourced from the hives of western honey bees or Apis mellifera, the Wild Jamun Honey is produced by rock bees—also known as Apis dorsata—that primarily feed on wild jamun flowers.

The sweet and tart notes of this honey shine best when added to herbal teas or salad dressings.

Maaticha is a farm owned by the Kazi family that grows local, seasonal produce in the Konkan region. ‘Maaticha’—which translates into ‘of the soil’ in Marathi—incorporates traditional farming methods that have been passed down over generations to cultivate mango, coconut, chikoo, black pepper, turmeric, and other native crops.
