Have it in small amounts, the way you would a traditional murabba—a spoonful on its own, or alongside a meal. It works well with simple breakfasts like rotis or porridge, where a little sweetness goes a long way.
Known as the ‘Queen of Herbs’, shatavari is a major source of income for indigenous people in the Western Ghats. Here, the crunchiness of its root beautifully contrasts the floral notes of the wild honey.
Forest Post sells products made from forest produce such as honey, mango ginger, and wild fern. Their mission is to secure sustainable livelihoods amongst native, forest-dwelling communities in the surrounding Chalakudy and Karuvannur river basins of the Western ghats. They currently work with indigenous women in six villages, and train them in adding value to Minor Forest Produce.
