Feta

ORIGIN: Sayla, Gujarat

₹400  |  150 G

Made with a blend of sheep and goat milk, this feta is slow fermented in olive brine for over three weeks.

You’ll be buying directly from the producer. The Locavore does not handle orders, payments, delivery, or customer support.

It has a distinct salty flavour, and a creamy and crumbly texture.

Use it in small amounts, crumbled over salads, vegetables, or simple grain bowls where its saltiness can lift the dish. It also works well folded into wraps or paired with tomatoes, herbs, and flatbreads for an easy, everyday combination. Because it’s quite bold, a little goes a long way.

Panchal Dairy works with local pastoralist communities in Sayla, Gujarat, who follow traditional livestock-rearing practices. While pastoralists produce milk in significant quantities, a lack of separate collection or value chain systems for sheep and goat milk means that they have little choice but to channel it through the existing dairy market dominated by cow and buffalo milk. Panchal Dairy was established to address this gap, and create livelihoods for pastoralist communities in the region.
